演讲人：Mr.Byron Boaz Sherman
Byron hails from South Africa and has been teaching English at various levels since 1999. After completing a master''s degree in the US, he came to China in 2008. He is currently doing a PhD in comparative literature and translation part-time, focusing on the history and reception of translations of African literature in China. In his free time, he enjoys reading, writing, watching movies, going for walks and cooking.
演讲内容简介：
Zhang Yimou''s 1991 film ''Raise the Red Lantern'' brought international attention to Chinese cinema and launched the career of the superstar Gong Li. In this lecture, Byron will discuss why this film became one of the most internationally acclaimed Chinese movies of all time.
