The English majors of 2008 of the Faculty of Foreign Languages excelled in the TEM4, a uniformed national exam for the English majors, with an average passing rate of 76. 08%, 36. 07% higher than that of all the independent colleges and 20.07% higher than that of all the tertiary institutes in China. Additionally, the average "outstanding" rate was 24.4%; of all the 209 students, 9 got a score more than 80 points and 42 more than 70 points.
