演讲人：Mr. Aaron Richards

Aaron Richards holds a Master’s in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Old Dominion University in the United States. This is his fifth year of teaching English as a second/foreign language, and he hopes to reach 10,000 hours of teaching, after which he will be much more comfortable with the title “master.” He spent the last two years teaching English in Turkey.

Journey with me into a land of antiquity, a land of Islam, a land of modernity…Turkey is all of these at once. Topics covered will include Greek and Turkic settlements of Anatolia, the Ottoman Empire, the birth of the secular Turkish state, tourism, pop culture, militant Islam and Turkey’s place in the uncertain future of Europe, the Middle East, and indeed, the world.
