On the evening of December 3rd, English Corner was held on the first floor in Library. Mr. Brett Gearing, Mr. Christopher Dockstader, Dr. Aviva Shimelman, Mr. Sam Wilson, Mr. David Riddiford and Mr. Lucas Conrad were present.
Dr. Aviva Shimelman exchanged her opinions on delicious food and tourist spots in Macau and worldwide with students. The students around her were interested in beautiful scenes she described. Also, Dr. Aviva Shimelman mentioned about the different local cultures and customs coming from different countries.
Mr. Lucas Conrad talked about black bears and brown bears. Normally, bears didn’t attack people, unless they had a sense that they would be attacked. On the contrary, they would run away when they saw people because they would be afraid. As a result, Mr. Lucas Conrad thought people and bears could get along well. And he also reminded that people should leave quietly instead of running and yelling.
In English Corner students could talk about various topics in English and improve their communication competence.
